This full-time position reports to a Technical Services Manager and is located at the Operations Center.

WHAT YOU WOULD DO:

Construct, test, and maintain power system protection, control, SCADA, and electronic communications equipment. An employee who is qualified as a Journeyman Lineman or IBEW Local 125 recognized Journeyman certification in the electrical trade may do high voltage switching and substation operation.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Journeyman with a thorough knowledge of power system protective relays, substation protection, SCADA control devices, and power system control equipment. Must be knowledgeable in the proper operation of relay test equipment including: Doble, Omicron, Megger, or similar three phase software driven test sources.

A protection and control technician may work in confined spaces and in elevated work areas, may work with bucket and boom trucks. May work independently or with others and occasionally work long hours during emergency conditions.

Must be able to satisfactorily communicate with fellow employees and with the general public. Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

SALARY:

Clark Public Utilities' salary ranges are market based and established annually. With full competency

in the role and satisfactory performance the target is midpoint within the established range. Protection & Control Technician: $76.49/Hour
