A leading UK accountancy and advisory firm is recruiting a VAT Compliance Manager for their VAT team based in London.

Managing a diverse portfolio of clients engaged in cross-border trade. You will be instrumental in guiding businesses through the complexities of EU VAT compliance, ensuring they navigate their obligations with confidence.

Role:

• Client Onboarding & Advisory: Support clients transitioning from registration to ongoing VAT compliance, providing expert guidance on EU VAT obligations.
• Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring high-quality service delivery.
• Technical Oversight: Review and approve VAT returns across various jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing internal processes and resources, contributing to the team's efficiency and effectiveness.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client meetings to understand their advisory needs, preparing tailored reports on EU/UK/ROW VAT/GST matters.

Experience:

• Technical Expertise: In-depth understanding of the EU VAT Directive and national legislation, with a focus on key topics such as place of supply, VAT liability, and reporting requirements.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to manage and develop a team, balancing technical responsibilities with people management.
• Client-Focused: Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex VAT issues clearly to clients and stakeholders.
• Organised & Proactive: Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines, demonstrating initiative and attention to detail.
