Operating as a regional airline in the United States, Air Wisconsin Airlines performs flying services for American Airlines as American Eagle throughout the Midwest and East Coast, operating CRJ-200 regional jets. Administers the Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP) and coordinates all activities of the Maintenance Department. Areas of responsibility encompass all Maintenance Department functions and operations to include; quality control and assurance, production, engineering, power plant operations and maintenance programs. This position also has oversight of Procurement, Technical Stores and Materials Planning.
Job Functions:
- Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
- Ensures decisions relevant to airworthiness, serviceability and flight safety are accomplished by appropriately qualified personnel. Ultimate authority for ensuring Maintenance Department policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Oversees and directs staff responsible for procurement, material planning and technical stores departments. This includes purchasing of parts and materials, aircraft component repair, material planning, AOG support and inventory management/control within technical stores locations.
- Ensures that all Maintenance operations are conducted in accordance with applicable DOT/FAA regulations, collective bargaining agreements and Company policies and procedures.
- Advises senior management on issues relevant to maintenance operations and regulatory matters.
- Represents the Company with regulatory agencies, manufacturers, and service providers.
- Represents the Company in collective bargaining negotiations and grievance proceedings.
- Participates in formulating and administering Company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
- Develops team through coaching, training, and empowerment regarding responsibilities.
- Manages the departmental budget with a thorough understanding of departmental and Company cost structure and metrics.
- Develops departmental metrics and measurement indicators of operational and system management performance.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance or Engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant license preferred.
- Five to seven years aircraft maintenance management experience in FAR Part 121 Air Carrier operations, preferably in a union environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem solving skills, out-of-box thinking, persistence and a tenacity in following up on tasks and ensuring they are completed within the timeframe required.
- Requires high level of judgement and initiative in coordinating implementation of departmental objectives.
