























Description
Full Time or Relief Chief Engineer needed for the Research Vessel Hugh R. Sharp based in the resort town of Lewes, Delaware.
Work with a great Crew supporting interesting oceanographic operations at sea.
The SHARP is a 146' purpose-built research vessel with Schottel z-drives and a Cummins power plant.
Most missions are 12-18 days, near-coastal on the U.S east coast Spring through Fall. Crew rotations are typically one to two missions on, one to two off, when fully staffed. Winters are typically alongside maintenance in Lewes with periodic dry dock periods.
Lead and perform maintenance and repair of the ship's engineering systems.
Engineers assist with operation of the ship's A-frames and Winches.
Great fit for Engineers with Tow Boat, OSV, NOAA, USCG buoy tender, or Military Service experience with mid-size working vessels.
USCG endorsement as Chief Engineer limited or higher preferred; DDE 4000HP minimum; STCW OICEW.
Salary + Shore Leave + Sea Pay compensation based on qualifications and experience. Day Rate for Relief Engineers.
