Description

This opportunity is for flexible, self-motivated, and results-oriented Electrical Engineer candidates. Primary role will be creating the electrical designs of commercial- and utility-scale solar PV projects for our industrial and manufacturing clients across the US.

This will involve becoming a leading contributor to the expansion of our Renewables Strategic Growth Plan and will focus on continuing to grow this area of our engineering practice and, ultimately, leading the Solar Electrical Engineering Team. Secondary role will be providing support on energy audits and environmental remediation design and maintenance projects. Responsibilities will also include providing technical support to projects across service lines while working remotely from any location in the US. Travel may be required, based on project and client needs.

Requirements

• Designing, inspecting and troubleshooting interconnection details to satisfy local electrical utility requirements
• Developing Solar PV design, permitting, and construction packages including solar array layouts, electrical one-line drawings, collection systems, collection system studies, communication systems and equipment installation details for commercial- and utility-scale solar PV systems
• Leading site visits to gather notes and photos of existing conditions to support the design and identify critical flaws
• Supporting early development of projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs
• Supporting utility interconnection applications
• Reviewing and approving equipment submittals
• Managing and leading electrical engineering activities during the proposal, design, installation and commissioning stages of projects
• Providing project oversight, including managing electrical engineering scope, developing change orders, and maintaining project schedules and budgets
• Coordinating with in-house and subcontracted engineering resources, including civil, geotechnical, structural, and substation design engineers
• Reviewing and approving project deliverables and assuming responsible charge, as needed
• Providing engineering support for environmental investigation and remediation projects
• Cultivating on-the-job leadership development of your colleagues and supporting responsible team growth, while supporting project implementation
• Growing and managing a team of electrical engineers and interns to complete full electrical design of commercial- and utility-scale renewable energy projects
