Title: Power Plant Engineer
Position Type: Direct Hire
Location: Blytheville, Arkansas
Reports to: Plant General Manager
Status: Exempt

Job Description :
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for a Power Plant Engineer supporting a large 600MW combined cycle power facility located in Blytheville, Arkansas. The Power Plant Engineer will report to the Plant General Manager and be an integral part of the plant operations team with responsibility for technical activities relating to operations, maintenance, reliability, and optimization of plant processes and equipment. The Power Plant Engineer will play a vital role in planning, designing, and executing maintenance and capital projects to ensure optimal plant performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• The Power Plant Engineer reports to the Plant General Manager.
• Ability to plan, organize, direct, and supervise engineering and field activities related to short and long-term maintenance and operations.
• Coordinate, develop, and implementation maintenance and capital improvement activities.
• Monitor plant operations to assure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and operating permits.
• Develop engineered solutions (technical designs, budgets, economic analyses, etc.) for improvement of plant safety and process performance. Manage the implementation of approved projects.
• Monitor Safety Program to ensure safety objectives are met.
• Address regulatory compliance and reporting with NERC/SERC regulations.
• Responsible for plant optimization, monitor key process variables to optimize safety, PM schedules, plant performance, run time and efficiency.
• Maintain current training and ongoing education to successfully maintain qualifications to perform work
• Support all aspects of continuous operation of the plant.
• Monitor the plant's capital and operational spend; identify and recommend opportunities for cost reduction.

Job Requirements :
• Possess thorough knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, practices, and established procedures.
• Skilled in managing maintenance programs and capital improvement programs.
• Proficient at project managing of capital improvement projects with the ability to manage contractors and vendors during project development, construction, and commissioning.
• Knowledge in power plant planned outage management.
• Knowledge of NERC/SERC including standards, reporting methods and best practices.
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills for both one-on-one and in small groups. Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media.
• Working knowledge for computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to problem-solve, identify, analyze, and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication, leadership, motivational and teamwork skills required.
• Solid organizational and administrative skills.
• Knowledge in regulations and working with Independent System Operators.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment is a plus
• Occasional travel may be required, estimated less than 10% of total time.

Physical Requirements :
• Duties require walking, standing for extended periods of time, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders and stairs, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to use protective equipment correctly (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, etc.)

Education / Experience :
• Bachelor of Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years in power plant engineering with combined cycle experience preferred.
