Duties: Prepares schedule data for proposals and contract negotiations; Assists in schedule baseline preparation and initial project setup; Establishes and maintains the schedule for specific disciplines, commodities, areas and/or specialties; Performs schedule development tasks to include establishing the work breakdown structure (WBS), determining the work activity duration, establishing the proper workflow logic ties, and developing the planned percent complete work-off; Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties; Identifies and reports on activities that are on the critical path, as well as activities that are on near-critical paths; Reviews, validates, integrates, and monitors subcontractor schedules; and Evaluates subcontractor schedules for potential schedule risks and opportunities. May work at various unanticipated worksites throughout the U.S. Due to the nature of construction projects, work may be required at various unanticipated locations nationwide with relocation a possibility; however, the primary reporting location will be the Reston, VA location with no more than 10% of travel required.
Requirements: Must have a Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in job offered or in a related occupation. In lieu of a Master’s degree, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in job offered or in a related occupation. Position requires experience in: Proficiency in developing, maintaining, and monitoring Level 3 CPM schedules for large construction projects using Primavera P6 Software. Preparing Installation Curves, Bulk Curves, Commodity curves and doing analysis on Sustained rate and peak rates from Historical similar projects and developing the curves for the current project. Developing Engineering and Procurement deliverables priorities based on the Construction and commissioning standpoint, requirements and developing Critical path and near critical path activities. Prepared Monthly and Weekly reports for the Client and developing the Procurement and Start up and commissioning Skylines to track the items. Sequencing the EPC scope of work for Area, developing the Work packages and integrating with the correct logics. Risk Management Techniques, Resource planning, manpower loading and productivity tracking. Interpret and analyze engineering drawings, Cost Control, earned value management, and Identifying Schedule Impacts. Any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience is acceptable.
